Plugin Requirements

• An active affiliate account at Shutterstock - Learn more or get started now.
• Shutterstock API Login and Key (request one from the Shutterstock Affiliate Team now)
• WordPress 2.7 or newer – we recommend the actual WordPress Version
• Access to the search.php in your template (only for some themes)

Automatic Installation

For WordPress version 2.7 or later you can install the Shutterstock Affiliate Plugin automatically from your WordPress interface. Simply navigate to the Plugins menu and select Add New.  Then search for “Shutterstock Affiliate” in the search box.

When the results appear, click the Install link in the Actions column for WordPress to automatically install the latest version of the plugin.

Please activate the plugin after the installation

You can activate it directly after you have installed it (Activate link below installation notice) or you go into Plugins menu and activate it there.

For older versions of WordPress or manual installation: 1. Download and unzip the plugin zip file. 2. Upload the entire folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory of your WordPress installation.

Do not forget to activate!

Navigate to the Plugins page of WordPress and Activate the plugin (see above).

Configuration

Once installed and activated, find the Shutterstock button below the Settings menu in WordPress. Click the button to configure the plugin.

API Login and API-Key:

You need to enter your Shutterstock API login name and your API Key.

Attention: The Shutterstock API Login and Key are not your Shutterstock standard username or password. You will need to request it from the Shutterstock Affiliate Team manually.

So the plugin can access Shutterstock with your API account.  Your account credentials are passed directly to Shutterstock so they’re as safe. We only use the credentials to connect to their API.  Once you save your settings you’ll see a success message: You have logged in successfully and the plugin successfully logged in with your account.

The plugin will not show any Shutterstock images if you are not successfully loged into the API.

Referrer Code:

Add your own referrer code (i.e. mine is 5759) which you can be found at your Shutterstock Affiliate Panel. Its the yellow number behind the “?rid=” in your affiliate link.

Attention: This is mandatory to earn money through the Shutterstock Affiliate Program. If you do not enter your referrer code, Shutterstock can not track if the users are coming from your site.
